PaceClub Blog: Swim Today
Swim Today
Posted on Speedo's Pace Club
As an 18 month old, I cried during every swim lesson. I was so scared of my swim lessons, in fact, that I even cried whenever my swim instructor’s name was mentioned. But I lived in California and we had a backyard pool, so learning to swim was not a choice for me, it was a life skill necessary for my safety. My mom knew that and knew I would thank her later, so she pushed through and continued with my lessons. Two-and-a-half years later, I was chomping at the bit to get my first shot at competitive swimming. At 4 years old, I was hooked.
Not all kids will have the competitive bug, but all kids need to be given the chance to learn to swim, to be happy and safe and experience being a part of the aquatic community...

I've enjoyed reading bits of your blog on your time spent at the 2012 Olympics in London but what I appreciated more was this article about the joys of swimming! My three year old was taking lessons at your Aquatics center in Roseville and hated every minute of it haha! Even when I took her to recreation swim when I could go into the pool with her she said to me I hope we don't see any teachers here. We love to swim together though as well as her and her Grammie as she has a pool In her complex where she lives. I'll sign her back up again next summer and hopefully she'll be less intimated by someone else teaching her. Cool website. btw I used to work for your dad at Roseville Dental Group. . I was an assistant then but now am a Hygienist working in another office. Sorry to read about your house catching fire...
